WikiLeaks to release Israel documents in six months

DOHA: WikiLeaks will release top secret American files concerning Israel in the next six months, its founder Julian Assange disclosed yesterday.

 

In an excusive interview with Al Jazeera, Assange said only a meagre number of files related to Israel had been published so far, because the newspapers in the West that were given exclusive rights to publish the secret documents were reluctant to publish many sensitive information about Israel.

“There are 3,700 files related to Israel and the source of 2,700 files is Israel. In the next six months we intend to publish more files depending on our sources,” said Assange in the nearly one-hour interview telecast live from the UK.

Asked if Israel had tried to contact him though mediators, Assange said, “No, no contacts with Israel but I am sure Mossad is following our activities closely like Australia, Sweden and the CIA.

“The Guardian, El-Pais and Le Monde have published only two percent of the files related to Israel due to the sensitive relations between Germany, France and Israel. Even New York Times could not publish more due to the sensitivities related to the Jewish community in the US,” he added.

Excerpts from the interview:

An Arabic newspaper called Al Haqeeq conducted an interview with one of your former colleagues who said you have a deal with Israel not to publish these secret files.

This is not true. We have been accused as agents of Iran and CIA by this former colleague who was working for Germany in the past and was dismissed from his job after we published American military documents related to Germany.

We were the biggest institution receiving official funding from the US but after we released a video tape about killing people in cold blood in Iraq in 2007, the funding stopped and we had to depend on individuals for finance.

When will you publish the files related to Israel on your website?

We will publish 3700 files and the source is the American embassy in Tel Aviv. Prime Minister Netanyahu was traveling to Paris to talk to the US ambassador there. You will see more information about that in six months.

Do these Israeli files speak about the July 2006 Israeli war against Lebanon?

Yes there is some information about that and these files were classified as top secret.

Is there any relation with these files and the assassination of Hamas military leader Al Mabhoh in Dubai?

Yes there are some indication to this and may be some special reports published by newspapers. Mossad agents used Australian, British and European passports to travel to Dubai and there are diplomatic files about that.

Are there any security service companies providing information to international airports and monitoring passengers even in the Arab countries?

There are some files about American and Israeli security companies that tried to intervene in certain areas. For example, in Brazil, the American embassy put some Israeli security companies during the Olympic Games.

Are there any files about agencies providing intelligence information about famous personalities in the Arab world?

I am not sure about that but there are files about Hezbollah in Lebanon. In one of these files Lebanon government complained against cables passing near the French embassy. American are always very much worried about the telecommunications network.

Are there any files about Israeli agents in the Arab world including some Arab royal palaces.

Most of the files related to Mossad are classified as top secret but there may be some files related to the role of Mossad in killing Lebanese military leader in Damascus by sniper bullets.

There 2,500 files related to Mossad and I have read only 1000. So I don’t know about everythiong, I need more journalists including Arabs to read and analyse and put everything in the context for the benefit of the readers.

We have 17,000 files where the word Qatar has been mentioned, the source of 3,000 of these files is the American embassy in Doha.

What is the most interesting file about Qatar that was not published?

There is a lot to be read. The name of Waddah Khanfar has been mentioned in 504 files. Some of these files have been published by The Guardian.

How do the Americans view Al Jazeera in these files?

There were some meetings between people from Al Jazeera and the US embassy where the latter suggested coverage of certain things in a certain way.

There are files about a TV channel in Dubai which the Americans said can be used against Al Jazeera and when this channel tried to move in the American direction, people stopped watching it.

The Americans despite having a base here were angry about the presence of an Iranian bank in Qatar but Qatar said it would not close it but would not open new banks. Despite that this bank established many more branches in Doha. Qatar is trying to create a balance between the Arab world and the America.

The Americans appreciate having their largest base in Doha but Qatar does not agree with all American requirements and Al Jazeera is a good example for that.

WikiLeaks will release cables concerning Israel, the Second Lebanon War and the Mabhouh assassination in the next six months, its founder Julian Assange said in an interview with Al Jazeera on Wednesday.

Assange said only a small number of documents related to Israel have been published so far because newspapers in the West that had exclusive rights to publish the material were hesitant to publish sensitive information about Israel, the Qatari newspaper The Peninsula reported, citing the Al Jazeera interview.

“The Guardian, El-Pais and Le Monde have published only two percent of the files related to Israel due to the sensitive relations between Germany, France and Israel. Even The New York Times could not publish more due to the sensitivities related to the Jewish community in the US,” he added.

He added that Israel had not tried to contact him, but that he is "sure Mossad is following our activities closely like Australia, Sweden and the CIA."

Wikileaks: Alemania pidió a EE.UU. ejercer presión sobre Israel

Un cable filtrado por Wikileaks y publicado en Israel aborda la posición del Gobierno alemán en el conflicto por los asentamientos judíos. Según el documento, Alemania habría pedido a EE.UU. ejercer presión sobre Israel.

Hace un año, el Gobierno alemán exhortó a la administración estadounidense a ejercer presión sobre el primer ministro israelí, Benjamin Netanyahu, para que éste ordenara el cese completo de las obras en los asentamientos judíos.

Como lo informa el diario Ha'aretz, basándose en los documentos publicados por Wikileaks, en un cable de la embajada estadounidense en Berlín se afirma que Christoph Heusgen, asesor de seguridad de la canciller alemana Angela Merkel, había propuesto el 10 de noviembre de 2009 poner a Netanyahu ante la siguiente disyuntiva: en caso de que el primer ministro israelí no aprobase la moratoria de la construcción de asentamientos, la administración estadounidense dejaría de esforzarse por que el Consejo de Seguridad no votara cerca del informe Goldstone sobre la guerra en la franja de Gaza, un estudio bastante negativo para Israel.

Una tarea cada vez más difícil

Los diplomáticos norteamericanos habrían reaccionado con sorpresa a la propuesta rechazándola por “contraproducente”. Los estadounidenses habrían concedido, con todo, dejarle claro a Israel que su política de asentamientos estaba haciendo muy difícil a sus amigos apoyarlo ante Naciones Unidas.

El asesor de Merkel habría anunciado, entonces, que pondrían el tema de los asentamientos en la agenda de las consultaciones en Berlín, planificadas en un principio para el 30 de noviembre de 2009. Éstas fueron canceladas, poco después, por una indisposición de salud del primer ministro israelí. Así la versión oficial. El encuentro fue pospuesto para enero de 2010.

Y Netanyahu cambia de opinión

A mediados de noviembre de 2009, el Gobierno nacionalista conservador de Netanyahu había rechazado un cese de las obras en los asentamientos; sin embargo, dos semanas después aprobaba la moratoria de 10 meses en Cisjordania. “Para nosotros no es fácil dar este paso; es doloroso. Lo damos por consideraciones de peso para nuestro país y con la intención de aportar a la reapertura de negociaciones para lograr la paz con nuestros vecinos palestinos”, anunciaba el primer ministro israelí en diciembre de 2009.

Berlín, menos tolerante que Washington

En el cable de la delegación estadounidense se citaba la opinión del asesor de Merkel en cuanto a que Israel tenía que esforzarse más por lograr que los palestinos volvieran a la mesa de negociaciones. “Mientras que las autoridades israelíes sigan informando a los palestinos en el este de Israel que sus casas serán destruidas, para el presidente (palestino) Abbas sería un suicidio reanudar las negociaciones”, habría dicho Heusgen catalogando de incomprensible  la posición de Netanyahu.  De estas opiniones publicadas por Wikileaks se puede sacar la conclusión de que  en la cuestión de los asentamientos el Gobierno alemán es bastante menos tolerante que la Casa Blanca, según el diario israelí.

El peso de la historia

Estas revelaciones adquieren un carácter especial teniendo en cuenta que poco después los mandatarios de Alemania e Israel subrayaban los lazos de amistad entre ambos países, a seis décadas del Holocausto y el fin de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. "Estar aquí, 65 años después del Holocausto, como primer ministro de un Estado judío independiente, es un momento histórico, una importancia inigualable el poder celebrar conversaciones con el Gobierno de una Alemania reconstruida", declaraba el 18 de enero el primer ministro israelí. 

A las deliberaciones conjuntas –las programadas inicialmente para noviembre y que tenían una lista de diversos temas- siguió un acto en el monumento a las víctimas judías en Europa. Y la canciller Merkel recordó a su par israelí que espera un "esfuerzo mayor a lo ofrecido hasta ahora" por parte de Jerusalén para detener la construcción de nuevos asentamientos en territorios palestinos. Y Netanyahu replicó que era hora de "terminar de hablar sobre cómo hablar sobre la paz. Yo estoy listo para la paz. Espero que los palestinos muestren igual disposición".

Hitler mandó construir Ovnis para bombardear Londres y Nueva York

BERLÍN.- Una revista alemana asegura que existen evidencias de que Adolf Hitler tenía un proyecto secreto "OVNI", que implicaba la construcción de una súper arma, en forma de platillo volador, que cambiaría el destino de la Segunda Guerra Mundial.

La revista cita el testimonio de algunas personas que dicen haber visto un objeto volador en forma esférica, con la cruz gamada, volando a baja altura sobre el río Támesis, en 1944.

Según publica el diario británico The Telegraph, el líder nazi habría encargado el asunto a la Luftwaffe y a Hermann Goering, jefe de desarrollo de la súper arma. El objetivo de Hitler era que los platillos voladores lograran alcanzar destinos lejanos y destruyeran Londres o Nueva York.

La revista científica "PM", que publicó el informe, asegura que el programa tenía un nombre en clave, “Schriver-Habermol”, tomado de los apellidos de uno de los pilotos de prueba del Ejército alemán y de uno de sus ingenieros.

El proyecto de la súper arma voladora se encontraba en una fase muy avanzada y un testigo capturado por los aliados después de la II Guerra, dijo haber visto el platillo volar sobre Praga en varias ocasiones a principios de 1945.

El testigo lo describió como una nave con una cabina central rodeada de ala-paletas con rotación ajustable y en forma circular. Las paletas se mantenían unidas por una banda en el borde exterior del dispositivo.

El paso de las aspas podía ajustarse durante el despegue. Unos pequeños cohetes servían de propulsores, que giraban hasta alcanzar la velocidad suficiente para el despegue.

La revista alemana reconstruye la historia y cita una crónica publicada en The New York Times sobre un "misterioso disco volador" que publicó varias fotos de un objeto no identificado que volaba a gran velocidad sobre los rascacielos de la ciudad. 

Según un técnico que habría participado en el proyecto, también citado por la revista, los ingenieros alemanes construyeron al menos 15 discos voladores.

Investigadores españoles constatan en familias islandesas el primer contacto genético entre europeos y amerindios; la «madre» original fue traída de América por los vikingos

 

Una mujer amerindia puso sus pies en Europa cinco siglos antes de que Colón pudiera devolverle la visita. Corría el año 1.000 y la mujer fue llevada a Islandia por los vikingos que ya exploraban la costa norteamericana. No solo llegó hasta el viejo continente, sino que además tuvo hijas en él, quién sabe en qué circunstancias. El linaje ha llegado hasta nuestros días. Un equipo de investigadores, entre los que se encuentran varios españoles del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), ha constatado por primera vez esta presencia precolombina con una base genética en familias islandesas. Este impresionante trabajo aparece publicado en la revista American Journal of Physical Anthropology.

Varios restos arqueológicos y narraciones evidencian que los vikingos pisaron tierras americanas siglos antes de la llegada de Cristóbal Colón. El poblado vikingo descubierto en L’Anse aux Meadows, en Terranova, Canadá, y textos medievales islandeses como la «Saga de los groenlandeses» y la «Saga de Erik el Rojo», escritas en el siglo XIII, apuntan a que estos incansables exploradores comenzaron a llegar a la costa norteamericana a partir del siglo X. Pero nunca hasta ahora se había encontrado una clave genética de la relación física entre islandeses y amerindios, un hecho científico incontestable.

Los investigadores, en colaboración con la compañía islandesa de investigación biomédica deCode Genetics, que tiene muestras de ADN de casi todos sus compatriotas actuales, encontraron que cuatro familias distintas, integradas actualmente por cerca de 80 personas, tienen un linaje genético de origen amerindio. Los investigadores reconstruyeron las genealogías de hasta cuatro antepasados cercanos al año 1700. Hasta ahora, se conocía que los genes de los actuales habitantes de la isla procedían de los países escandinavos, de Escocia e Irlanda, pero se desconocía que el origen fuese más lejano.

Linaje mitocondrial

El linaje encontrado, denominado C1e, es además mitocondrial, lo que significa que estos genes fueron introducidos en Islandia por una mujer.«Dado que tienen la misma secuencia y que es de tipo amerindio, lo lógico es pensar que estas cuatro antepasadas, a su vez, derivan de una única antepasada común», explica el investigador del CSIC Carles Lalueza Fox, del Instituto de Biología Evolutiva de la Universidad Pompeu Fabra. Como la isla quedó prácticamente aislada desde el siglo X, «la hipótesis más factible es que estos genes correspondiesen a una mujer amerindia que fue llevada desde América por los vikingos cerca del año 1000», señala Lalueza Fox.

Desde esa primera mujer han pasado unas 40 generaciones, y en todas nació, al menos, una niña. «Esa mujer tuvo hijas y ese linaje femenino no se ha interrumpido hasta la actualidad. En caso contrario, el ADN mitocondrial no hubiera llegado hasta ahora», apunta el investigador. ¿Pueden existir otras familias en Europa con una antepasada tan exótica? Para Lalueza, «no es descartable, pero sería muy raro, ya que existen decenas de miles de estudios genéticos y no se ha encontrado este linaje en ninguna otra familia». Sería algo muy poco representativo y, de hecho, ya lo es, ya que hasta ahora se han descubierto 80 descendientes en un país de 280.000 habitantes.

Raptar mujeres

Imaginar la vida que pudo llevar esa primera mujer «americana» en Europa no es fácil, pero seguramente estaba lejos de ser un cuento de hadas. «La tradición de los vikingos era raptar mujeres en los lugares que conquistaban, algo que también se aprecia genéticamente en la población islandesa, donde hay una proporción bastante elevada de linajes mitocondriales que provienen de las islas británicas».

Que algo tan impresionante como la primera visita de una mujer amerindia a Europa haya pasado desapercibida no es extraño. «Lamentablemente, las mujeres no escribían la historia», apunta Carles Lalueza.

Nazi spaceship film sparks UFO debate

A new sci-fi film about Nazis has reignited a debate in Germany about Hitler's development of UFOs.

The Finnish sci-fi comedy 'Iron Sky' centres on real-life SS officer Hans Kammler who was said to have made a significant breakthrough in antigravity experiments towards the end of WW2.


The film relates how, from a secret base built in the Antarctic, the first Nazi spaceships were launched in late 1945 to found the military base Schwarze Sonne – Black Sun – on the dark side of the Moon.


This base was to to be used to build a powerful invasion fleet and return to take over the Earth once the time was right, in this case 2018.

But a new report out this week in Germany in the magazine PM purports that there is "strong evidence" that a Nazi UFO programme was well advanced.

Hitler ordered Luftwaffe chief Hermann Goering to develop the super weapon that would change the war.

The PM report quotes eyewitnesses who believe they saw a flying saucer marked with the Iron Cross of the German military flying low over the Thames in 1944.

At the time the New York Times wrote about a "mysterious flying disc" with photos of the device seen travelling at extremely high speeds over the high-rise buildings.

The best known of the Nazi UFO projects was the Schriever-Habermohl scheme, named for Rudolf Schriever and Otto Habermohl.

Initially a Luftwaffe project, it fell under the auspices of armaments minister Albert Speer before being taken over once again in 1944 by Hans Kammler.

Eyewitnesses captured by the Allies after WW2 claimed to have seen the saucer produced in Prague fly on several occasions in early 1945.

Joseph Andreas Epp, an engineer who served as a consultant to the Schriever-Habermohl project, stated 15 prototypes were built in all.

He described how a central cockpit surrounded by rotating adjustable wing-vanes formed a circle.

The vanes were held together by a band at the outer edge of the wheel-like device. The pitch of the vanes could be adjusted so that during take off more lift was generated by increasing their angle from a more horizontal setting.

In level flight the angle would be adjusted to a smaller angle, similar to the way helicopter rotors operate. The wing-vanes were to be set in rotation by small rockets placed around the rim like a pinwheel.

Once rotational speed was sufficient, lift-off was achieved.

After the craft had risen to some height the horizontal jets or rockets were ignited. "After this the wing-blades would be allowed to rotate freely as the saucer moved forward as in an auto-gyrocopter. In all probability, the wing-blades speed, and so their lifting value, could also be increased by directing the adjustable horizontal jets slightly upwards to engage the blades, thus spinning them faster at the digression of the pilot," he said.

Serious diplomatic conflict: Israel is accusing the Norwegian government of funding and encouraging blatant anti-Israel incitement.

According to reports received by the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem, the Trondheim Municipality is funding a trip to New York for students taking part in the "Gaza Monologues" play, which "deals with the suffering of children in Gaza as a result of the Israeli occupation."

In addition, a book written by two Norwegian doctors who were the only foreigners in Gaza to give interviews during Operation Cast Lead was published recently. The book, which accuses IDF soldiers of deliberately killing women and children, is a bestseller in Norway and has been warmly recommended by none other than Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

The Israeli Embassy in Norway strongly protested the authorities' involvement in Israel's demonization. "The open and official Norwegian policy talks about understanding and reconciliation," a senior Israeli official said Sunday evening, "but ever since the war in Gaza, Norway has become a superpower in terms of exporting multimedia aimed at de-legitimizing Israel, while using the Norwegian taxpayer funds for creating and transporting this multimedia." 

 Deputy Foreign Minister Daniel Ayalon said in a meeting with Norwegian parliament members that "such activity pushes away the chance for reconciliation and encourages a radicalization in the Palestinian stand which prevents them from compromising."

The Norwegians responded to the Israeli criticism by saying that the government supports the freedom of expressions and will not intervene in artistic content.

La jueza envía a la cárcel al nazi propietario de la librería Europa

El nazi propietario de la librería Europa de Barcelona, Pedro Varela Geiss, está a un paso de ingresar en prisión por primera vez para cumplir una condena por difundir ideas genocidas a través de los libros que edita y vende en su local de la calle de Sèneca del barrio de Gràcia. Una jueza de Barcelona ha decidido no concederle la suspensión de la pena de un año y tres meses de cárcel y ha ordenado que se proceda a su detención e ingreso en un centro penitenciario. No obstante, la decisión puede ser recurrida por el imputado.

 

En la resolución del Juzgado Penal número 15 de Barcelona ha pesado el hecho de que Varela ya tenía otra sentencia de siete meses de prisión confirmada en el 2008 y que también atañe a la difusión de ideas genocidas. En el auto, la jueza argumenta que las dos condenas del dueño de la librería Europa «ponen de manifiesto una trayectoria delictiva que demuestra su peligrosidad» desde el punto de vista penal. Por ello, la magistrada ha tomado la decisión de dar las órdenes oportunas a la policía para el arresto del dueño de la librería de Gracia con el fin de que cumpla la pena de privación de libertad. El mismo escrito reconoce que el imputado puede presentar un recurso.

LA REBAJA DEL CASTIGO / La pena de un año y tres meses de prisión que, en principio, deberá cumplir Varela en la cárcel fue impuesta en mayo pasado por la Audiencia de Barcelona, que en su sentencia rebajó una condena anterior de dos años y nueve meses de cárcel dictada por un juez. El tribunal lo absolvió del delito de provocar la discriminación por ideología, raza y orientación sexual y, en cambio, le mantuvo el castigo por la difusión de ideas genocidas.

El nuevo fallo destaca que desde el 2006 la librería Europa ha vendido libros que «enaltecen y justifican» el genocidio nazi contra el pueblo judío, así como publicaciones que «menosprecian a otras razas o etnias, mujeres, homosexuales y personas con alguna discapacidad».

EL LIBRO DE HITLER / Además, Varela ha sufrido otro revés judicial por su actividad en la librería Europa. A petición del fiscal especial Miguel Ángel Aguilar, la Audiencia de Barcelona ha reabierto el proceso que un juzgado de Barcelona había archivado a finales del 2009 contra él por haber editado y distribuido en España sin autorización el Mein Kampf (Mi lucha, en castellano) de Adolf Hitler. La acusación en esta ocasión no se basa en la difusión de ideas genocidas, sino en un delito contra la propiedad intelectual. Y es que los derechos para editar ese libro son propiedad del estado federal de Baviera (Alemania) hasta diciembre del 2015. Fue el Consulado de Alemania en Barcelona quien presentó la denuncia contra Varela.

Medio alemán afirma que Piñera escribió frase nazi en libro presidencial germano

Según diario "Süddeutsche Zeitung", el Mandatario puso la cita "Alemania ante todo", utilizada en el antiguo himno y que luego fuera eliminada.

BERLÍN.- El periódico alemán "Süddeutsche Zeitung" informó este lunes que Sebastián Piñera firmó en el libro de oro de visitas de la Presidencia de Alemania con una cita del antiguo himno germano -considerado nazi-, causando la sorpresa de su par Christian Wulff.

Durante su última actividad antes de retornar a Chile, el Gobernante participó de un desayuno con Wulff, tras el cual se empeñó en dejar un mensaje sobre su visita: "Deutschland über alles" ("Alemania sobre todo").

 

"¿Über alles? (¿Verdad?)", cita el diario al Mandatario al preguntar al embajador de Chile, Jorge O'Ryan Schütz, al parecer ingenuamente, sobre la polémica frase -y que el actual himno ya no considera-.

Dicha situación, según el medio, causó asombro en el Presidente Wulff, quien seguía atentamente la conversación entre Piñera y el diplomático.

El rotativo destaca que el Ejecutivo alemán reaccionó diplomáticamente ante el incidente, subrayó que Piñera sólo quiso expresar algo positivo y señaló que el tema fue tratado posteriormente de manera discreta con el embajador O'Ryan.

Fuentes presidenciales comentaron que la hoja con la embarazosa frase y firma de Piñera será eliminada del libro de visitas y que se ha solicitado al Jefe de Estado que escriba otro saludo para sustituir a la primera.

According to Rabbi, the lives of non-Jews in Israel are safeguarded by divinity, to prevent losses to Jews.

The sole purpose of non-Jews is to serve Jews, according to Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, the head of Shas’s Council of Torah Sages and a senior Sephardi adjudicator.

“Goyim were born only to serve us. Without that, they have no place in the world – only to serve the People of Israel,” he said in his weekly Saturday night sermon on the laws regarding the actions non-Jews are permitted to perform on Shabbat.

According to Yosef, the lives of non-Jews in Israel are safeguarded by divinity, to prevent losses to Jews.

“In Israel, death has no dominion over them... With gentiles, it will be like any person – they need to die, but [God] will give them longevity. Why? Imagine that one’s donkey would die, they’d lose their money.

This is his servant... That’s why he gets a long life, to work well for this Jew,” Yosef said.

“Why are gentiles needed? They will work, they will plow, they will reap. We will sit like an effendi and eat.

That is why gentiles were created,” he added.

Yosef’s Saturday night sermons have seen many controversial statements from the 90-year-old rabbi. In August, Yosef caused a diplomatic uproar when he wished a plague upon the Palestinian people and their leaders, a curse he retracted a few weeks later, when he blessed them along with all of Israel’s other peace-seeking neighbors.
